This is the result – a guest post entitled: PR Pitches: Bin the crap but keep an eye out for the gold! (although the post was semi-hijacked by one @Problogger Darren Rowse, unbeknown to him!).
Anyway, gist of the post is around bloggers dealing with PR people, written from a PR practitioner’s perspective (i.e. mine).
There’s been a lot of discussion lately within blogging circles regarding the issue that the PR profession doesn’t get bloggers.
“They don’t understand what my blog is about.” ~ “I keep getting pitched irrelevant stuff.” This is what I keep hearing.
Firstly, it’s important to re-frame your situation: Getting crap pitches is a good sign! It means you are getting noticed and recognised as an influential blogger. Mark that down as a huge positive!
