For centuries now, human civilization has built monuments, cities, temples, buildings, tombs, etc. which have been so magnificent and flabbergasting that it has awed people all over the world, be it with their architecture, craftsmanship, magnitude or simply by its extreme beauty. We all know about the seven wonders of the world, but let’s have a quick revision again and also find out what is it that makes them stand out and gives them the felicitation of being among the seven wonders of the world.
1. Taj Mahal- India
This monument which is considered to be the biggest symbol of love and represents historical value and stunning beauty is located in the historic city of Agra, India. To testament his love for his dear wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal was built by emperor Shah Jahan in 1632. One of the most loved and famous monuments of all time, the Taj Mahal attracts a whopping number of 7-8 million visitors every year.

2. Colosseum – Italy
Also called the Flavian amphitheater, this oval-shaped colosseum is constructed from the use of sand and concrete and is one of the biggest amphitheaters in the world. With a capacity to hold about 80,000 spectators, the colosseum was built by emperor Vespasian and was finished by his successor Titus. Attracting tourists from all parts of the world, the Colosseum is famous for enactments of battle, hunts, executions, mythological dreams, etc.

3. Machu Picchu- Peru
Located in the Cusco region of Peru’s Machupicchu district, Machu Pichu was developed as an estate in the year 1450 by the Inca emperor but was abandoned a century later during the Spanish conquest. A great representation of the Incan way of life, this tourist destination is a hot favorite among tourists from all over the world.

4. Christ the redeemer -brazil
This art deco style statue of Jesus Christ in Rio De Janeiro is one of the most iconic statues in the world. Curated by Paul Landowski, a French sculptor, Christ the redeemer is 98 feet tall and a 26 feet tall pedestal. Located atop the 2300 feet tall Corcovado mountain, this statue is made of soapstone and concrete.

5. The great wall of China – China
A global tourist attraction, the Great Wall of China, is famously known all over the world for its uniqueness, historical importance, and great length. Constructed not with just the intention of safeguarding the country from invaders but also to promote business, this man-made wonder stretched about 4000-mile sand is a strong presenter of Chinese history.

6. Chichen Itza – Mexico
Depicting the beautiful remains of the Mayan culture, this historic location in Yucatan is one of the most visited places in Mexico. Full of interesting facts and stories, this wonder of the world has been very famous for its graphic stone carvings, the temple of the warriors, ball courts etc.

7. The Great Pyramid of Giza- Egypt
One of the oldest and the biggest among the three pyramids forming the Giza pyramid complex, these pyramids have been believed to be built for over a period of 10 to 20 years and were completed around 2560 BC. Baffling engineers and architects al over the world, these structures have stood the test of time and continue to allure tourists from all parts of the world.
